Scare

Beebster scared the crap out of me today. Or, as Maddie would say, she scared the "cap" out of me.

We went to the playground in the afternoon and there was nobody there. So, Maddie and Faith were in heaven chasing after each other and running from the smaller playground to the bigger playground. Faith started running after Maddie on the paved path to the bigger playground, and of course tripped and fell flat as a pancake. Her face took the fall. To be more exact, her nose and "musbeard" (as Donovan would say) took the brunt of the fall. I ran to pick her up since it looked pretty bad, and she was hysterical. When Beebster gets hysterical she does not scream with a voice, but instead screams silently if that makes any sense. There was complete silence and I knew she was building up the biggest Beebster screech ever.

Rather than letting out that biggest Beebster screech, she instead fainted. Her eyes rolled into the very back of her head while I held her, and I panicked. I tossed her to Dan and she was completely limp with her eyes rolled into the back of her head for about 10 seconds. They were the longest 10 seconds of our lives. She finally came to and started crying and crying and crying. It took her a good while to calm down and be our Beebster again. She clung to Dan and then cried for "Momma" and I held her forever.

Trivial stuff compared to what other people go through with their kids hurting themselves much worse, but yet still such a scare for both Dan and I. I hope I never have to experience that again. Her little nose is so red and swollen, and also bruised. It looks like she's got a mustache because of the scrape above her lip. It definitely looked better though by the time she went to bed, and I am so grateful that she's a happy little Beebster again.
